W-2 is a program that provides employment and training services, case management, and cash assistance support to eligible families.

+ How do I get enrolled into W-2?

You must apply for W-2 at your local W-2 agency. You can also apply for W-2 services online at access.wisconsin.gov/access/

+ How can W-2 benefit me?

The W-2 program can help you find stable employment and provide for your family. Our staff can connect you with education and training opportunities, help you get work experience and a job, and provide case management services to help you stay employed and advance in your career. A worker at the W-2 agency will determine if you are eligible for W-2.

+ What type of training programs do you have available?

You can choose from a wide variety of trainings, including Certified Nursing Assistant, phlebotomy, pharmacy technician, culinary arts, welding, construction, and much more.

+ Do you help individuals who are refugees or need emergency assistance?

Yes, we can help you apply for the Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) program. It provides temporary cash assistance to refugees during their first eight months in the United States. Refugees generally enter the U.S. without any income to support themselves. RCA helps refugees while they:

  • Look for work
  • Learn English
  • Become a part of their local communities
We can also help you apply for Emergency Assistance for a one time payment every 12 months if you are faced with an emergency due to a fire, flood, natural disaster, energy crisis, homelessness or impending homelessness. You can apply for Emergency Assistance at your local Wisconsin Works (W2) Agency.

+ I need help finding employment. How can W-2 help me?

We start by helping you set a 90-day goal. Then we connect you with a job developer to help you work on your resume, create a cover letter, and review opportunities. We support and guide you as you prepare for job interviews and provide access to needed resources, including work-related clothing, transportation, and childcare.

+ How do I know if I might be eligible for W-2?

The ACCESS website has an interactive interview that can help determine if you might be eligible for W-2. You must apply at your local W-2 Agency even if you complete the ACCESS interview.
